    Friendship, what is it ?

    2012 - 04.16

?A thought occurred to me. What is friendship ? Is it a subconscious emotional response occurring under specific triggers ? Is it a chemical response that our bodies pick up on, again, subconconsciously ? Is it some deep instinct for survival, become part of a group, safety in numbers ? I believe it is none of the above. If it were any of the above, there could be no depth. I believe friendship, in itself, is mystery incarnate. How else do you explain the relationship of 2 or more random individuals that approaches and often reaches or surpasses the love and loyalty of family. My first point is – Friendship happens when you are not looking for it. When you are comfortable with who you are, and you stop trying, that is when friendship blooms into existence. Case in poitn, when I was younger, I tried for years to make friends, the closest I came was acquaintences. No love, no bond other than, you’re here, I’m here. When I stopped trying, and accepted myself for who I was, and was good with it, then the friendships started blossoming. Many of the friends I made at the time are still my friends 20 + years later. Another point, there is no rhyme or reason to friendship. Case in point. My best friend is a guy I worked with in a factory. I was mean, not just obnoxious, but down right mean to him everyday for about 3 months. I was eyeballing him everyday, waiting for him to say something so I could attack. One day he called me out. He asked me what my problem with him was. That completely caught me offguard, as I really had no reason to be mean to him other than my own jealousy of the situation at the time. Having made me speechless, I later found the courage to apologize, and a friendship blossomed. These are my theories on friendship, your comments are most appreciated. Agree or disagree, I am curious about your thoughts. Til then cherish those closest to you, and your friends never be too far from your heart

    man up princess

    2010 - 03.29

This is about the train wreck show called 16 and pregnant. I call it a trainwreck because I know it’s going to be bad, but I can’t fight it. Well I can but the morbid curiousity gets the best of me. All the shows are the same. Boy meets girl, gets girl pregnant, boy becomes ass. He goes out and does what he wants and expects the girl to stay home and not go out. She goes out and boy talks smack. I would like to see the girl pop the boy in his mouth. That would be great. On the other side, the girl expects mommy and daddy to watch the baby so she can resume her normal life. WRONG!! There is a price to be paid.Mommy and daddy have already raised their baby or babies. The way they talk to the parents too is way out of line. Swearing at the parents for not doing what the teen demands.Right, children do NOT make demands on parents. The parents run the show. The teens usually have no job and no plans to get one.So as far as I see it, the boys in the show need to man up. Don’t be stupid, they play the game, now pay the piper.Get a job, pay for the baby. Don’t make mommy and daddy pay for your lack of reason.Parents need to start handing out consequences. You do this, this is the result, good or bad, your choice, but I will not bail you out of the situation. Your life is no longer going out every night. It is being home, taking care of your baby. As a parent I would watch the baby on my terms. Not everyday, all day. It is not my baby.Should I choose to give you a reprieve for a while, I will offer. I will not bend to demands over your actions. I know I started to ramble, but the message is this. Hold children accountable for their actions. Do not tolerate disrespect from them. We clothe them, We feed them, We provide shelter, and for this we ask nothing more than courtesy and respect, we should demand courtesy and respect, and accept nothing less. They can move out when they are of age. Til then Mommy and Daddy run the show.

    Do you remember…

    2010 - 03.08

Do you remember the first time someone said I love you, and they said more than that. Not the I love you in a casual way, but the I love you that says “Hey, you mean more than you know. My life is better when I see you, it is better because I know you. There are a lot of firsts in life, but none will ever compare to the first I love you

    First time

    2010 - 03.06

Always wondered what the hype was about blogging. I always wanted to try it and I got the chance. Hope I’m not ramblin too much. I think I’ll talk about courtesy and respect. Two traits that seem to be passing by the wayside. I see it in the way children speak to their parents, the way people in the workplace speak to their boss or co-workers. Courtesy and respect are the basic necessities in any arena. Workplace, home, school or anywhere interaction takes place. Parents are no longer allowed to demand respect from their children. Might offend their tender sensibilities. But since when do the children contribute. The parens pay the bills, feed them, clothe them, keep a roof over their head, yet it seems it’s not enough. They make demands on the parents, and act as if it is reasonable. It’s not reasonable or realistic.Respect for parents and those in authority and courtesy for the same. Respect and courtesy are not based on like or dislike, they are based on common goals. You can dislike those around you, yet still be courteous. Respect is the same. Respect is given, if for no other reason, than reason of position. You do not have to like your boss, but because he says do it, you do it.He doesn’t ask if you like it, he doesn’t care if you like it. It needs done so do it.So to end this, witout courtesy and respect, life is much harder than necessary
